Session 5. Innovative technologies in water and wastewater treatment

Solving the problems associated with renewable water supply in BRICS countries involves application of innovative water treatment and purification technologies. The following aspects appear to be particularly important in this context: assessing the current state of water treatment and purification facilities’ barrier function, and determining the ways to strengthen it; studying global development trends for innovative water treatment and purification technologies; application of cutting-edge technologies for waste water treatment and purification in BRICS countries; deployment of advanced equipment required to make full use of innovative water treatment and purification technologies. Moreover, BRICS countries would benefit from exchanging practical experience of advanced technologies’ application at specific water treatment and purification facilities.

Mikhail N. Kozlov is the head of the Office of new techniques and technologies of JSK "Mosvodokanal", PhD, author of more than 200 scientific publications on water treatment and wastewater treatment, a member of the Technical Working Group №10 on the development of the guide of the best available technologies "Wastewater treatment using centralized systems wastewater settlements, urban districts, the head of the section "water drainage sewage treatment in the technical Expert Council of the Russian Association of water supply and sanitation.

 

Deputy Session Chair: Marina V. Kevbrina, Head of Section, Engineering and Technology Centre, Innovative Equipment and Technologies Department, JSC "Mosvodokanal"
Marina V. Kevbrina is the head of the wastewater treatment of Engineering and Technology Center of JSC "Mosvodokanal", PhD, author of more than 100 scientific publications on water treatment and wastewater treatment, a member of the Technical Working Group to develop №10 handbook of best available techniques "Wastewater with the use of centralized sewerage systems of settlements, urban districts ", member of the technical Council of the Russian Association of water supply and sanitation.
